Before 1975, the land of current Dam Sen Cultural Park was an uncultivated marsh.
During 1976-1978, following appeal of City Committee of the Party and People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, thousands of people from all districts in the city were mobilized to dredge the marsh and cultivate trees in the area.
And the park was so initiated, followed by gradual reconstruction into a cleaner lake of airy landscape.
In 1983, first 30 ha of both water surface and greenery were put into operation. The City assigned 11th District to manage them. In turn, People’s Committee of 11th District assigned Company of Gastronomy of 11th District, Universal Cultural Company and Aquatic Cultivation Enterprise to exploit the area.
In 1989, the work was assigned to Phu Tho Tourist – an establishment just separated from Company of Gastronomy of 11th District – for management and investment up to now.
